Selling Old Radios for Profit

If you like antiques and you’re looking for a way to make some extra money, one of the things you can do is to sell old radios. A lot of people do that, because they find that there’s still quite a market for them. Anyone who wants to get started selling these radios should be aware of the pricing for them, though. If you pay too much for it, you won’t be able to sell it for a profit. Condition really matters, and if it’s not in good working condition you may want to pass it by. If you know someone who can fix it very quickly and cheaply, however, it could still be a good investment.

The thing about old radios, and getting them fixed so you can sell them, is that you really have to know what’s wrong with them and how much that can cost to repair. If you’re unsure, you may end up okay but you could also end up paying too much for something that’s really very expensive to get fixed. By the time you do that, you won’t be able to sell the radio for a profit. You may be able to avoid getting it fixed and resell it as is for what you paid, but you could also end up losing money.

Advertising is when getting into selling older merchandise. You have to know exactly what audience to appeal to. Older merchandise is going to come from hole in the wall places, garage sales, or nursing home sales where perhaps the merchandise hasn’t been used all that much. Buying older things is a gamble, and it’s possible that you’ll lose out sometimes, but you need to win most of the time in order to make things worthwhile for you. If you’re collecting just for yourself that’s a non-issue, but if you’re trying to sell the old radios you have to look at things like a business, instead of like something that you admire and want to keep for yourself.
